No. Oklahoma law keeps your medical history private. You do not need to share records, diagnoses, or medical history to get a medical marijuana card recommendation. Your health information stays between you and your physician. Learn more about qualifying for an Oklahoma MMJ card.
The Okie MMJ Doctor visit fee is $99. Use discount code STOPRX at checkout to take $10 off, bringing your visit to $89. The state of Oklahoma charges a separate $100 fee plus a $4.30 processing fee when you submit your OMMA application. Patients on Medicaid, Medicare, SoonerCare, or with 100% disabled veteran status pay a reduced state fee of $22.50 total. See the full Oklahoma MMJ cost breakdown here.

After Your Appointment
OMMA has up to 14 business days to process patient applications. The moment your approval email arrives, you can shop at any licensed Oklahoma dispensary using the email and a government photo ID. Yes. As of January 2026, OMMA authorizes licensed Oklahoma dispensaries to accept your official approval email or your MedPortal approval status in place of a physical card. Bring the email and a valid government photo ID. The dispensary will verify your active status through OMMA Verify in real time. Most dispensaries accept this option, but it is a good idea to call ahead and confirm before you go. Read our first-time dispensary guide to prepare for your first visit.
You can submit your renewal application up to 30 days before your card expires. Submit before the expiration date and your current card stays active while OMMA reviews the renewal, so there is no gap in coverage. The renewal process mirrors the new card process. See the full renewal guide here.
After your appointment you will receive your physician recommendation by email or text within 24 hours. Log into the OMMA MedPortal, complete the patient application, upload your documents, and pay the state fee. Our OMMA Card Submission Guide walks you through every step.
