Quick Answer: To check your OMMA application status, log in to the OMMA MedPortal at medportal.omma.ok.gov and open your dashboard. OMMA reviews patient applications within 14 business days. Then it emails you if you are approved or need to fix something, or mails a letter if it denies you.

To check your OMMA application status, log in to the OMMA MedPortal and look at your dashboard. OMMA reviews patient applications within 14 business days of the day you submit (Oklahoma Medical Marijuana Authority [OMMA], n.d.). After that, OMMA emails you if you are approved or need to fix something. If OMMA denies you, it mails a letter instead. So, the MedPortal, your inbox, and your mailbox are the places to watch.

This guide walks you through each step. It also explains what each result means and what to do next.

How do I check my OMMA application status?

You check your OMMA application status online in the OMMA MedPortal. Here is how:

  1. Go to medportal.omma.ok.gov on your phone or computer.
  2. Log in to your account. If the MedPortal asks you to confirm who you are, choose Patient or Caregiver License. Then enter your date of birth and your OMMA license number or application ID (OMMA, 2025).
  3. Open your dashboard. Your application and its status show up there.
  4. Next, check your email, including your spam folder. OMMA emails you once staff review your application.

What does “Submitted” mean on my OMMA application?

“Submitted” means OMMA has your application and the review clock is running. From that day, OMMA has up to 14 business days to review it. Weekends and state holidays do not count toward those 14 days.

While your application says submitted, you do not need to do anything. Instead, keep an eye on your email. Also, there is no need to send a second application for the same card.

What happens after OMMA reviews your application?

After review, OMMA sends one of three results. Each one has a clear next step.

Approved

Good news first. If OMMA approves you, it sends an approval email. Then OMMA prints your card in one or two business days. After that, it mails the card to you by regular first-class mail (OMMA, n.d.).

In the meantime, some dispensaries accept your approval email along with a photo ID. Learn how in our guide to using your OMMA approval email at a dispensary.

Incomplete

An incomplete result means OMMA needs you to fix something. OMMA sends you an email that lists the reasons. Once you get that email, log back in to the MedPortal and make the changes (OMMA, n.d.).

However, timing matters here. OMMA says you can fix your application only after the email arrives, not before. So, wait for the email, then act fast. You can read this rule and others on OMMA’s FAQ page.

Denied

A denial means OMMA did not approve your application. In that case, OMMA mails you a letter that explains why. The letter goes out within 14 business days of the day you submitted (OMMA, n.d.).

Still, a denial does not have to be the end. You can fix many problems. Our guide on what to do if your OMMA application is rejected walks you through your options.

What if my OMMA card has not come in the mail?

If your card has not come within 30 days of approval, you can ask for a replacement. Log in to the MedPortal and fill out a replacement card request (OMMA, n.d.).

Before you do, check your mailing address. If your address is wrong, OMMA asks you to send an update request first. Then send the replacement request. That way, the new card goes to the right place.

How do I check my OMMA renewal status?

You check a renewal the same way as a new application. Simply log in to the MedPortal and look at your dashboard. Then watch your email for OMMA’s result.

Timing is the biggest part of a smooth renewal. We recommend booking your renewal doctor visit at least one month before your card expires. That gives OMMA time to review your renewal before your current card runs out. Also, remember that you must apply within 30 days of the date on your doctor form. For every step, see our Oklahoma MMJ card renewal guide.

Who can help with my OMMA application status?

OMMA handles every approval, and it prints and mails every card. That means only OMMA can approve your application or change your status. You can reach the OMMA call center at 405-522-6662, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Common questions about OMMA application status

How long until I hear back from OMMA?

You should hear back within 14 business days, since that is OMMA’s review window. If OMMA approves you, printing takes one or two more business days, plus mail time. For the full timeline, read how long it takes to get an Oklahoma MMJ card.

Why would OMMA deny me?

OMMA lists the exact reason in your denial letter. Problems often come from the photo, the documents, or the doctor form. For example, since January 1, 2026, OMMA does not accept forms from doctors who are not registered with OMMA.

Can I fix my application while it says submitted?

No. You have to wait until OMMA reviews it. If something needs a fix, OMMA will email you. After that, you can log back in and make the change.

Can I call OMMA to check my status?

Yes. Call the OMMA call center at 405-522-6662 on weekdays. Still, the MedPortal is often the fastest way to see your status.
